Families and community

We welcome families and community groups throughout the year to take part in creative activities inspired by the British Library's collections and exhibitions

Our family learning programme supports families to learn together in a fun and relaxed way. Everyone's welcome and, best of all, we won't ever ask you to keep the noise down!

Join us for free workshops and full day events or visit at any time to explore our building using our Family Trail to guide you.

We are fully accessible and sessions can be tailored to suit families with special educational needs.

You're welcome to breastfeed or bottle feed throughout the British Library. If you prefer a more private space, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to help.

Our cafes are equipped with high chairs or if, you prefer, you're welcome to bring a packed lunch.
